This is our Summer Season Opener and this event is now in its 13th year. This year we are honoring a beloved wife and loving mother who left this earth at the youthful age of 44.  Her name is Laurie Mendenhall and she was a Baseball Mom from a Baseball Family.  Her enthusiasm and energy for her family as well other teammates families is an inspiration and example for all to follow.  In her honor we are donating some of the proceeds of this event to the Laurie Mendenhall Scholarship Fund.  A local graduating senior will be chosen to receive this scholarship in accordance with guidelines set forth by the Mendenhall Family.

Last year we had over 100 participate in this Tournament and several age groups did sell out early.  This event is for teams of all competitive levels as teams will be bracketed according to skill level.  As with all Team Sports events you will play on Great Fields, the tournament will be well organized with timely communication, and have the top umpires in youth baseball sanctioned and assigned through the Game Hogz Umpiring School.

For 9u - 13u and 14u 54x80  there will be a 3 game minimum with half the teams playing 4 or more games.  Games will be played in Barberton @ the beautiful Foundation Fields Complex as well as Cascade Valley Park in Akron and The First Energy /Patterson Park Baseball Complex in Akron. Umpire Fees are covered in the entry fee. Teams will supply one new and used baseball per game - they will be returned at the end of the game

For 14u 60/90 - 18u -- there will be a 3 game minimum with half the teams playing 4 or more games.  Host sites are Mt Union University, Thurman Munson Stadium and Top High School Fields in the Canton & Akron area --- Walsh Jesuit HS, Barberton HS, Woodridge HS, St Thomas Aquinas HS, and Jackson HS to name a few.  We are also planning games in the Cleveland area with Tri C, Baldwin Wallace College and Berea HS possible game sites.  Games will start on Friday afternoon at 4pm as we are aware kids are still school. Arrangements will be made for out of town teams to start on Saturday if they cannot make a Friday evening game The entry fee will cover the umpire fees. Teams will supply game balls (1 new and 1 used to start each game ). For all age groups there will be team and individual awards for 1st and 2nd place.
